About Leah: Fractional Communication Relationship Officer
As an expert in social, emotional, and conversational moves, I provide an environment for you where you tap into your existing strengths and grow new tools.
Tools that enable you to make things happen in your life with more ease and flow.
I help people see what’s inside themselves and give guidance for them to make their own decision.
It’s nice to meet you. I’m Leah.
My expertise emerged from years of cultivating communication, presence, leadership experiences in education, theater and a variety of leadership roles. I blend those experiences with my own personal evolution and coaching skills to enable you, your family and/or your business’ transformation.
My personal journey required getting out of my own way again and again so that I could be the teacher I wanted to be. So that I could be the singer and theatrical performer that I wanted to be. So that I could be the leader that I wanted to be.
In addition to my personal journey, I treasure being part of a tight knit, multi-generational family with shared enterprises. And, to find the treasure in my family, I have had to walk through some difficult situations and conversations. Ultimately, I realized that by changing the way I showed up in the conversations, I could shift my role in the family dynamics. It has been one of the most empowering experiences in my life!
Throughout my personal and professional life, I have been in awe of the power and resiliency of the human spirit. I have worked with people of all ages on the Autistic Spectrum, with ADHD, dementia, mental illness, addiction and a variety of physical and learning disabilities. With whomever I encounter, I always learn more about that person’s internal operation system, how they think, how they create meaning and how to communicate effectively with them.
Now, it is an honor to help others learn to be skilled and effective communicators and leaders in their own lives.

About Stepping Stool Coaching
I help leaders reclaim their agency by changing how they see themselves, other people, and the conversations that shape their lives.
My mission is to help people reclaim their agency.
By helping them discover where they have more choice than they realized.
(Not by giving them answers or telling them what to do.)
People often come to me because:
- The other person is the problem
AND/OR
- I am the problem.
They leave asking a different question:
Why conversations?
I love conversations because of what they reveal.
High-stakes conversations reveal:
- where we are out of alignment with who we want to be
- what we value most
- what we fear
- the assumptions we carry with us
- the stories we believe are true
- the unnamed emotions shaping our decisions
- where we have quietly surrendered agency.
A conversation is rarely just a conversation.
It is one of the clearest windows into how someone creates meaning from their experience.
What I have discovered about what my clients are thinking:
They’re living in statements like:
- “I don’t know what to do.”
- “I’m stuck.”
- “I’ve tried everything I can think of.”
- “I keep having the same conversation.”
- “Nothing changes.”
- “I can’t get through to them.”
- “I know what I should do, but I can’t seem to do it.”
- “I’m exhausted.”
- “I’m second-guessing myself.”
- “I don’t want to make this worse.”
- “Whatever I say feels wrong.”
- “I keep replaying it in my head.”
Those are all expressions of diminished agency.
Now look at what they actually want:
- I want clarity.
- I want confidence.
- I want to know what to do next.
- I want this to stop taking up so much space in my head.
- I want to feel like myself again.
- I want to move forward.
- I want to handle this well.
- I want to stop avoiding it.
- I want to stop carrying this around.
Notice that none of those are about communication.
They’re about getting unstuck.
What I actually do
I help with communication.
I help develop emotional intelligence.
I help decode other people’s behaviors.
But, I do primarily is
HELP people see what they couldn’t see before.
That shift changes everything.
As their perception changes:
- They find new ways to make meaning of the experiences
- They become more curious and less judging.
- new possibilities appear
- more choices become visible
And more perceived choices create more agency.
The developmental sequence
People arrive:
- blaming someone else
- blaming themselves
- replaying conversations
- feeling stuck
- believing there are only one or two possible responses
Together we uncover what is really happening.
As they begin seeing differently:
- they approach conversations with curiosity instead of judgment
- they develop quiet confidence
- they stop leaking energy to self-doubt
- they spend less time ruminating
- they become more creative
- they feel more at peace with themselves
Ultimately they begin creating work, relationships, leadership, and lives that are more aligned with who they want to be.
Core beliefs
Some beliefs that seem to sit underneath everything I do:
- Agency grows through awareness.
- Curiosity creates more freedom than certainty.
- Behavior makes sense once you understand what is driving it.
- Better conversations begin long before words are spoken.
- Internal alignment creates external influence.
- Peace isn’t the absence of conflict; it’s the absence of unnecessary internal conflict.
- Communication is one of the primary ways we shape our lives.
